Nail Fungus Laser TreatmentNail Fungus Laser Treatment – $90/session/foot

$450/6 sessions – 3 treatments for both feet

$650/8 sessions – 4 treatments for both feet

Laser therapy for nail fungus is a treatment method that uses a focused laser beam to penetrate the nail and destroy the fungus responsible for the infection, offering a non-invasive way to target the fungal cells beneath the nail while minimizing damage to surrounding tissue. This treatment typically requires multiple sessions and results are visible as the new, healthy nail grows out, with most patients needing to wait several months to see full improvement.

Common treatment schedules

For many 1064-nm Nd:YAG laser protocols, a practical schedule is:

  • 1 treatment every 4 weeks
  • 3–4 treatments initially
  • Reassess the nail and clinical response after the initial series
  • Additional treatments may be considered depending on severity and nail growth

Clinical studies have commonly used 3–4 treatments at 4-week intervals.

Patient Preparation & Aftercare Instructions

Before Your Treatment

Please follow these instructions to help ensure your treatment is performed safely and effectively:

1. Arrive with clean, bare nails

  • Remove all nail polish, gel polish, acrylics, and artificial nails before your appointment.

  • Do not apply nail polish immediately after treatment unless instructed by your provider.

2. Trim your nails

  • Keep the nails being treated reasonably short.

  • Do not aggressively cut, scrape, or file the nail before your appointment.

  • If your nails are thickened, your provider may recommend professional nail trimming or debridement or oral treatment in addition to laser therapy.

3. Clean and dry your feet

  • Wash your feet before your appointment.

  • Dry thoroughly, especially between the toes.

  • Wear clean socks and clean, breathable shoes.

4. Avoid irritating products
For 24 hours before treatment, avoid applying harsh chemicals, acids, exfoliants, or other irritating products to the nails or surrounding skin.

5. Inform your provider about your health
Please tell us before treatment if you have:

  • Diabetes

  • Poor circulation

  • Neuropathy or decreased sensation in your feet

  • A weakened immune system

  • Open wounds or an active infection around the nail

  • Significant nail injury or trauma

  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding

  • Any current antifungal medications or treatments

What to Expect During Treatment

Laser treatment uses controlled light energy directed at the affected nail. You may experience warmth, tingling, or brief discomfort during treatment.

Treatment time varies depending on the number of nails being treated.

Multiple treatment sessions may be recommended. Results are gradual because toenails grow slowly. The appearance of healthy nail generally becomes noticeable as new nail grows from the base.

After Your Treatment

  • Keep your feet clean and dry.

  • Change socks regularly, especially if your feet become sweaty.

  • Wear breathable shoes.

  • Avoid picking, cutting, or damaging the treated nails.

  • Follow any topical antifungal treatment recommended by your provider.

  • If you have athlete’s foot or peeling/itchy skin between the toes, follow treatment recommendations, as untreated fungal skin infection can contribute to reinfection.

  • Do not share nail clippers, files, socks, shoes, or towels with others.

  • Keep nail tools clean and disinfected.

Important

Laser treatment may improve the appearance of fungal-infected nails, but it is not a guaranteed cure for fungal infection. Your provider may recommend laser therapy together with topical antifungal treatment, nail debridement, oral treatment, or other therapies depending on your condition.

Because toenails grow slowly, full nail improvement can take several months. Follow your treatment schedule and aftercare instructions carefully for the best possible outcome.
